Many moons ago on arguably the greatest day of the year, my mother’s birthday, I began my life journey. Never once did I slow down to figure out who I was, I wanted to know where I was going.  The older I became the more I grew out of planning everything down to-a-T and started playing it by ear. Fast forward a quarter century and I am completely winging it in the Queen City.  Moving to Charlotte helped me grow out of my shell and become the person I want to be.  At this juncture in my life I thought I’d follow my passion for travel and embark on a cross country road trip with no set end date.

Goals for the trip:

  • Find meaning: working a 9 to 6 desk job is great for my bank account, what about my mental bank account?

  • Correct lazy habits: does anyone else’s house start to get messy after a while?

  • Conservation: consuming solely to stave off boredom isn’t necessary; try to reduce waste and environmental impact

  • Relaxation: the corporate world always forces you to ask yourself “what’s next?” when you really need to slow down and observe sometimes
