Pure Michigan has got a lot to offer, however I do not have lots of words about it. Somewhere in this section of the trip (since Green Bay) I misplaced many photos and journal writings I use to make posts. I could go on and on about how much this kind of thing frustrates me but I will just share a few of the photos I could find.
It was a great time of year to be out in the Midwest and I was very fortunate to have some friends getting married on back to back weekends. The first of which went down in Grand Rapids near the southwest corner of the state which allowed me to carry on up the west side of the state for the next week or so. Although I did not get up to the Upper Peninsula during my visit I got all the way to the Mackinaw bridge so that kinda counts right? (I was too cheap to pay the toll for just one day). Michigan has tons of other countryside to see in the bottom, “dome”, part of the state. Honestly I didn’t even know the UP existed until I got to Michigan, shows you what us east coasters know.
My week trip in Michigan wouldn’t be complete without a swig of water in Flint and a visit to the Big House in Ann Arbor (among other places like graffiti alley) before nestling in for a few nights in Detroit. With plenty of familiar faces and new scenery, myself and my beautiful fiancé were able to enjoy ourselves while celebrating both of our newlywed couples.
One week was enough for me in Michigan but maybe next time I’ll make it to the UP, I hear its gorgeous.
