If you were wondering why it’s called Valley of Fire, it’s because as soon as you loop around that first corner and pot the entrance the rocks look like fire filling out the canyon. It’s a state park in Nevada so my newly purchased Annual America the Beautiful pass didn’t get me in free but Nevada is a friendly state so they allow you to apply your $10 entry fee towards your $20 camping so you max out at $20 total for the first night. Great news for the cheapo unemployed me!
With temps about 4 times as high as were experienced in the Grand Canyon it was prime weather for some camp stove action and night time exploring. The nighttime activities did not yield any great photos because of those stubborn clouds blanketing the park.
The panorama function of the iPhone: crucial. I love being able to capture my camp spots at a wide angle without piecing together the images myself. Hopefully my HUUUUUGE 128 gig phone doesn’t get too filled up this year and I can share more of my spots. Okay back to the campfire for now.
