Cape Meares Lighthouse
Yep, another lighthouse. Oregon has lots and lots of them. From photos I have seen in the past the lighthouses always looked so huge, or perhaps that is just from seeing the lighthouses in the Outer Banks.
Most of the houses don’t actually produce light anymore which is great because that means you can go explore inside them. All the incredibly thick contoured glass makes for some creative photos. All of these photos are a handheld single shot with no post photoshopping.
Also out on the Oregon coast I visited Tillamook which is at least regionally well-known for its amazing cheese. I didn’t mess around with any cheese but I did stop by/campout at Blue Heron French Cheese Company to grab a few beers, pet a few animals, and camp for free in their parking lot.
Thanks to them for allowing RVers to stay and letting me slide even though I am not a “self-contained” unit. I have been kicked out of a few spots this year due to not having my own toilet onboard even when some locations have restrooms… Anyways these peeps have a whole mess of old and random vehicles in the parking area.
Don’t let the photos fool you though, there was plenty of rain before and after the photoshoot. With the expectation that Oregon was going to be a total washout the rain didn’t seem to really bother me when it did come. I’ve learned that setting the right expectation for any trip/place is imperative to extracting the most enjoyment. Rain or shine, I was still having a good time.
